Ogo Bodhu Sundari Bengali Serial 37 Ogo Bodhu Sundari Bengali Serial 37 is a popular TV serial produced by Ekushey Television, Bangladesh. The first episode was broadcast on 10 October 2008 and has run for 20 seasons and 220 episodes. The serial is about Wolar, who represents the lowest class of people called 'thana' in Bengal society during the early 16th century. Wolar's actions often result in unwelcome consequences for his family members and other members of society as well as himself, but he does not mind these consequences if they help others. He is always attempting to improve their lives and reasons even though he fails most of the time to bring about positive changes in society through his naive ways. His actions are often whimsical, but sometimes they are thought through and more successful. He is considered to be the son of the land. Wolar has a number of whimsical ideas that primarily relate to helping people or improving their lives. He often uses unorthodox methods that rarely work as well as helping him getting into trouble with other members of society. One such example is when he tried to end a mosquito infestation in his area by making a loud sound from a bamboo instrument resembling a flute, but his action ended up with him being thrown out from his own home by his wife because it disturbed her sleep. Another such example is his plans to get a better house for his family and his 'discovery' that he can get a better house by becoming an errand boy for the rich. Some of the things that Wolar does may seem strange to others, but he often has strange yet serious reasons behind them:
Wolar's father, Sarju is a very strict and traditional Bengali male figure. He has shown in the past some tolerance towards Wolar; therefore, Wolar thinks that if he can make it right for his father by good deeds and help him in some way, he may be able to gain some respect from him. However, Sarju has never shown any real acceptance of Wolar and he often expresses his dislike of his son's behaviour, but because of Wolar's fatherly love for him, he does not do anything to actually discipline or punish him. This is the source of much anguish for Wolar as he wishes that his father would show more respect and love for him by disciplining him when he behaves wrongly. He tries to express this by getting up late to take care of his father so that the latter could have a second chance at a better day. Wolar's mother has been shown as being rather cold towards her son's behaviour and she always seems to have something else on her mind. She is rather unaware of Wolar's plans and often fails to appreciate him. Although she complains about his faults to others, she does not really show her disappointment towards him at all. She is very tired-looking and acts a bit old beyond her years due to her worries about getting married off to a suitable boy for their family's betterment in the future. Wolar's siblings are shown as being somewhat strict and judgmental towards him, especially his younger sister Lajju who has full faith in her father's decision on matching her with a suitable boy from a different family for marriage.
